UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak seems to be a rising star on the world stage. At the Munich Security Conference this week, he actively rallied European leaders to “double down” on their support for Ukraine in its fight against the invading Russian forces. He has also been heavily engaged in resolving the challenging issue of Northern Ireland and its relationship with the rest of the UK and the EU. This issue arose as a result of the 2016 BREXIT referendum and prior leaders have been unable to resolve it, but Mr. Sunak is reported to be close to reaching a deal with the EU, even if he is tempering expectations.
