On this Full Moon at 16° 33’ Aries, October 9, 2022 at 01:55 PM PDT, the best way to move forward will be through mediation and diplomacy rather than aggressive actions. That’s because Aries’s ruler, Mars, is in a fragile state right now. Mars is in Gemini making a waxing square to Neptune in Pisces, exact on October 11-12 as well as preparing to slow to station retrograde on October 30. Not a good situation for Mars which is a debilitating factor on this Full Moon in Aries.
The Aries Moon itself is in reasonable shape because it is supported by a sextile to Saturn in Aquarius, a serious, steadying influence. However the Aries Moon conjoins Chiron in Aries which is likely to reveal its Achilles Heel. Our fears and apprehensions over our ability to lead can affect our professional life at this time. The situation with Mars in Gemini contributes to feeling unusually ineffective. Mars is not well placed in mutable Gemini and having Neptune in Pisces acting as an energy drain only makes things worse. People who use aggressive tactics to get their way could find those backfiring on them big time.
On one hand we have Saturn in Aquarius supporting the Aries Moon and Libra Sun. On the other, Uranus in Taurus may be undermining them through a semi-sextile to the Aries Moon and an inconjunct to the Libra Sun. Naturally the effects of these aspects are unpredictable but we can speculate those may act like a drag on our efforts to make progress. Financial issues, differences in values and a deep reluctance to embrace changes are all possible points of contention.
On the bright side, the Libra Sun conjoins Libra’s ruler, Venus, and that makes the Libra Sun the true star of this Full Moon. The Libra Sun-Venus conjunction is happily trine Saturn in Aquarius. What this suggests is choosing tact and diplomacy rather than aggression ought to produce much better, more lasting positive results. It is a good time to place an emphasis on cooperation and equity when negotiating compromises. The tight trine in air also makes it easier to objective and find the needed perspective when looking for solutions to our problems.
We can’t forget about Mercury in Virgo which now makes a waning trine to Pluto in Capricorn. This trine was exact on October 6 but is still in effect on the Full Moon. Mercury will be returning to Libra on October 10, the day after the Full Moon. If we need to do in-depth research, now is the best time to do it because it’s hard to beat Mercury in Virgo’s attention to detail combined with Pluto in Capricorn’s innate feel for what information to dig into, especially concerning those in positions of authority. We can also use this energy for double checking contracts, revising important documents, etc.
They may not be moving very fast but the square between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus is finally easing apart. Of course, some other major influence is bound to take its place but it will still be nice to see the back of this one.
Bright, optimistic Jupiter in Aries is sitting this lunation out, just when the Aries Moon could use its support. Jupiter is now on its way back to Pisces. It will reach Pisces on October 27 and remain there until mid-December.
All in all, this Full Moon in Aries has an upside down feel to it. The Aries Moon appears to be less effective than usual which creates a situation where the normal bold Aries moves may be thwarted by circumstances outside of our control. We will need to look to the other end of the Full Moon axis for guidance, the Libra Sun. Aries can be surprisingly comfortable handing the reins over the Libra, in part because Libra truly understands what it takes to be a good partner. So prepare to use Libra tools, such as tact, diplomacy, compromise and an equitable approach, to get the job done on this Full Moon. It helps that the balance in elements is slightly tipped in favor of fire and air, and there is a touch more cardinal energy available to prod us into action. As always remember to practice kindness, tolerance and patience! Peace and love to all.
